__________
Coming Up This Week:
THE
PENGUIN LESSONS - Wed. April 23 @7:00pm: Inspired
by the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who went to
work in a school in Argentina in 1976. Expecting an easy
ride, Tom discovers a divided nation and a class of
unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin
from an oil-slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.
Steve Coogan, Jonathan Pryce.
__________
BLACK
BAG - Fri. April 25 @7:00pm: From Director Steven Soderbergh, BLACK BAG is
a gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents
George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn. When she is
suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate
test – loyalty to his marriage or his country. Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender.
__________
THE
KING OF KINGS - Sun. April 27 @3pm: Renowned
storyteller Charles Dickens finds it challenging to bond with
his imaginative son, Walter, amidst his busy career. After
Walter disrupts one of Dickens’ readings, Dickens decides to
share the story of Jesus Christ with him, hoping to bridge
the gap between them. As Dickens narrates the story, Walter
becomes captivated, experiencing the events of Jesus’ life
vividly. Through the journey of Jesus, Walter and Dickens’
relationship deepens, culminating in a bond of love forged
through storytelling. Voices: Pierce Brosnan, Oscar Isaac,
Kenneth Branagh.

Coming Up Next Week:
FRUIT MACHINE - Live Theatre - Sat. May
3 @ 7:30pm: Fruit
Machine is an original physical theatre performance created
and directed by New Brunswick theatre artist Alex Rioux in
partnership with Solo Chicken Productions. This
groundbreaking production uses movement, projection, and
historical text to interpret and investigate the horrific
practices of the RCMP and Canadian Military that targeted the
2SLGBTQIA+ community from the 50s through to the 90s. Fruit
Machine gets its title from the non-functional device of the
same name developed by Frank Robert Wake that attempted to
use pupil dilation as proof of a man’s homosexuality.
Created with a primarily queer ensemble and creative team,
Fruit Machine shines a light on the barbaric practices and
the unfair treatment of queer individuals in Canadian history
and creates space for 2SLGBTQIA+ artists to take ownership of
their history, and their stories.
